Pitt Lacrosse back at the Woodlands

Bookmark and Share Printer Friendly Jun. 27, 2011

After helping clean up and set the camp in top condition before the summer started, The Pitt Men's Lacrosse team was invited back to the Woodlands Foundation summer camp in the north hills of Pittsburgh to take a more active role in the camp: Teaching the campers how to play lacrosse.

"This was a great opportunity for us to bring something and give back to the camp," said Jr. Midfield Elliot Clakely, "I've spent the last ten summers up there at camp and have a lot of great memories, but more than anything I enjoy bringing friends to help out and see them have a great time."

Founded in 1936, the Woodlands is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and young adults with disability and chronic illness. Using its fully accessible and barrier-free facilities, The Woodlands' programs enable participants to experience social, cultural, environmental, recreational and spiritual growth.
