Defensive Coach Alex Perry promoted to Co-Head CoachAug. 1, 2011 The University of Pittsburgh is proud to report that Alex Perry has been promoted from assistant coach/defensive coordinator to Co-Head Coach of the Pitt Men's Lacrosse team for the 2011-2012 season. "It's a huge honor to be promoted to this position, and very humbling that I'll be coaching alongside Coach Buzz next year," Says Perry. "We have a solid, core group of guys returning and I'm really looking forward to building off the success and momentum from 2011 to lead to another great season." Perry replaces the recently depart co-head coach and offensive coordinator Sean O'Brien, who left the Panther’s earlier this summer after leading the offense for two successful seasons, and will continue to serve as the defensive coordinator. "Coach O’Brien left huge shoes to fill and didn't make it easy for me. I'm ready and excited to get back to practice in a few weeks and get back to work chasing a championship." The Pitt Men's Lacrosse team is still looking to fill immediate opening for a new Offensive Coordinator and/or Offensive Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2011-2012 season. All are encouraged to apply, and applicants should e-mail their coaching resume and a cover letter or any other questions to head coach Sean Buzzard at buzz[at]pittpantherslax.com, or Alex Perry at perry[at]pittpantherslax.com. Hail to Pitt!
