PITT Panthers Announce Spring 2012 ScheduleOct. 20, 2011 The University of Pittsburgh Men's Lacrosse team is pleased to announce the spring 2012 schedule, featuring 18 games for the Panthers in the upcoming season. The Panther's open up their schedule with a game versus cross-town NCLL rival Robert Morris and sister school UP-Johnstown, and then have the annual double header versus NCAA D3's St. Vincent College and NCAA D2's Seton Hill University scheduled in Greensburg, PA. Next, the Panther's open up their MCLA schedule with home games versus CCLA D2 perennial power Grove City College (2/18), and new CCLA D1 rival Central Michigan University (2/25). PITT Next travels south for the second year in a row for the team's annual spring break trip, this year to Athens, GA for three out of conference games versus the SELC's University of Alabama (3/2), the University of Tennessee (3/3), and the University of Georgia (3/4). PITT beat Alabama 14-7 in Lexington, KY last year, and this will be the first meeting between Tennessee and Georgia. At the end of the month, the Panther's host PCLL Champion Buffalo (3/23) and CCLA Runner Up Michigan state (3/25). PITT has not beaten either team in the MCLA era (0-5 vs. Buffalo, 0-4 vs. MSU), but look to build of the 2011 season successes to change the tide in the Panther's favor. After that weekend, the Panther's conclude their home game schedule as they host Indiana University (3/31). Finally, the Panthers wrap up the spring regular season campaign on the road with a road trip to Boston, MA for games versus Northeastern (4/14) and Boston College (4/15), a day trip to Athens, OH versus CCLA D1 Rival Ohio (4/21), and finish the regular season with this year's edition of the Backyard Brawl of Lacrosse versus rival West Virginia University. The Panthers are 5-1 versus WVU in the MCLA Era, and last year beat the Mountaineers 16-7.
HAIL TO PITT!
