PITT Lacrosse Game Day: UP-Johnstown and Slippery RockNov. 3, 2011 On Sunday, November 6th, a pair of western Pennsylvania's NCLL teams will traval to Pittsburgh for a fall ball, round-robin action with the PITT Panthers. Slippery Rock University and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown come to town in the second to last weekend of the Panther's fall season. All games will be played in the Cost Center. The schedule for the afternoon is as follows: 1:15 PM: UP-Johnstown vs. Slippery Rock Slippery Rock went 10-1 in the 2011 NCLL season and earned a number 1 seed in the NCLL national championship, but was upset by Lynchburg College in the final four. SRU finished ranked third in the overall standings behind Lynchburg and the University of Cincinnati. Little information is available for UP-Johnstown on the NCLL website. According to LaxPower, the Mountain Cats finished their season with a 1-2 record, with their lone victory being a thrilling 10-9 overtime win over California University of Pennsylvania. The Panthers look to be at full strength for this game as two Panthers return to the line up after being injured or out for most of the fall. All Panthers expect to get playing time as the coaching staff works through minor roster and depth chart tweeks prior to breaking for final exams and Christmas break. The probable starting line up for the Panthers in both games is the following:
Admission to all of the games is free, but you may have to pay for parking ($5-10). Come early and bring a chair as seating is limited. HAIL TO PITT!
