Panthers Return to PracticeJan. 11, 2012 The University of Pittsburgh Men's Lacrosse team returned to practice this week after the winter break as all student athletes returned to campus for the spring semester. Practice began on Monday night, and resumes this evening at the Cost Center. The coaching staff will spend the next two week working on installing the offense and defense, as well as getting the team prepared for the 2012 season. The team will host a Blue/Gold scrimmage on January 21st that is open and free to the public, and then begin the spring campaign for a double header on January 28 versus cross-town NCAA division III LaRoche College and George Washington University out of the NCLL. The Panthers also welcome two new student athletes to the team. Two freshman attackmen in Clay Sobocinski (Audubon, PA) and Mike Lancellotta (Bethesda, MD) joined the PITT squad over the winter break, and look to bring depth to the Panther offense in 2012. Injury Note: senior attackman Chris Roy (Cromwell, CT) and freshman defenseman Ted Wight (St Louis, MO) have decided to Redshirt for the 2012 season due to injuries carrying over from the fall. Both will not be eligible for the 2012 season, but will remain on the roster and provide support and assistance to the team at practices and games. Hail to PITT!
