No. 10 Panthers En Route to CCLA Playoffs

Pittsburgh, PA—The Pitt Panthers travel to Saline, Michigan today to face the Ohio Bobcats in the first round of the CCLA conference playoffs. Face-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm at Saline High School.

The Panthers are ranked No. 10 in the nation, but are seeded 2nd to No. 14 ranked Michigan State University. Pitt lost to MSU 17-16 in overtime during the regular season.

In addition to moving to 10th in the MCLA, many Panthers received individual honors this week. Tyler Novotny, Matt Wolfe, Max Carlson, and Chris Gorham were all selected to the CCLA first team. In addition his selection as a CCLA first team attackman, Novotny was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Second team honors were awarded to Alex Powell, Eric Bulgarelli, and Joe Grmusa. Nick Ruff and Eric O’Neill both made the third team, and Bryan Peck was awarded an honorable mention.
