
Five Gauchos Named WDIA All-AmericanMay. 7, 2008
First-time UCSB All-Americans are seniors Kristen Dickey (Davis, CA), Emily Ruby (Davis, CA) and junior Katie Moran (San Rafael, CA) who were all selected to the First-Team. Sophomore Maggie Aker (Oakland, CA) was named Second Team All-American. Aker scored her 50th point of the season earlier in the day during the Gauchos win over the club from Boston College when she assisted freshman Ashley Antoon-Algieri (San Ramon, CA) on the final UCSB goal of the game. Dickey is the leading scorer on a balanced UCSB attacking unit with 46 goals and 12 assists following the first round play-off game vs. BC. Ruby's tally currently sits at 28 goals and 21 assists heading into the quarterfinal with Lindenwood on May 8th. Moran has numbers to write home about all over the field. The converted defender now unleashed to roam the whole field has 27 goals, 16 assists, 53 draw controls, 51 ground balls and 46 caused turnovers. Gherardi's contributions are similar with 21 goals, 3 assists, 32 draw controls, 51 ground balls and 57 caused turnovers.
